LOOK AT MONICA
WHAT A PAIR!

She's got two bikes, what did you think I was talking about? In front of her is the new Honda Shadow 750 and behind her is the first bike, the Yamaha V Star 650. The report is that it handles great. Now she gets to go shopping for accessories. Congratulations on the new bike and be careful.
2008 FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TRIALS
Rounds 3 & 4 were held in Sequatchie, TN. on April 26 & 27. Three of us rode up for the Saturday round. The weather was perfect for hiking to each of the sections the riders had to ride.
This is a trials bike, notice the rider is standing up. There is no seat and the bike only weighs 162 pounds. The one in this picture is a Montesa 280.
The top 15 riders in the world were here. Most of them were form Europe and none are from the USA. In Europe this sport is comparable to Motocross in the US.

Each section is roped off and riders have to stay within the boundaries. Inside a section expect to see lots of big rocks, creeks with running water and water falls, and huge trees that have fallen. The riders have 90 seconds to complete a section and the courses have been laid out to make it almost impossible to ride through.
There is no way to describe what it is like to watch someone leap 4 feet through the air and land on the completely vertical face of a rock cliff and then climb straight up it 8 to 10 feet with our falling off the bike. You just have to see it for yourself.
Keep on riding,
John

Well, this weekend lots of my riding buddies are headed off to the High Valley Resort in Suches, Georgia. This is the weekend of the annual spring trip for the Redstone Riders Motorcycle Club.
They have rented several cabins and will go riding in the mountains on Saturday. Most of them will leave Friday morning. Bruce Heath will lead on of the rides, it will be about 200 miles. James Langley will lead the other, and it will be about 360+ miles. I have seen the route for both rides, either of them will be a good ride.
I opted to hang out in Huntsville for a couple of reasons. One the doctor has not released me to go on any long trips yet. Two my daughter is returning from the Persian Gulf next weekend and I will take time off to spend with her.
The local mountains and roads will have to do for now. My son and I also have tickets to the arena football game on Saturday night.
Have a great and safe weekend and keep on riding,

JAMES LANGLEY 08 EASTER RIDE
This year the guys returned to Louisiana and went as far south on the eastern side of the Mississippi River as paved roads would take them. It was a 4 day ride and they averaged about 400 miles per day.
Everyone that went had a great time. They rode across the river on a coupld of ferries. Ate 2 pound steaks at Doe’s Place in Greenville, MS. and visited one of the local casinos.
After 3 good days of riding, my father told me that one of the best stops they made was to visit Durante Arrington’s parents home in south Mississippi. They have a nice place well off the main roads and sat around drinking coffee and just relaxing.
Once again I didn’t make the Easter ride due to back problems, but since it is a yearly event… I will try to make the next one.
