General Motors Corp. and Segway today demonstrated a new type of vehicle that could change the way we move around in cities.
But, I doubt it. It’s already been tried.

Built to carry two or more passengers, it can travel at speeds up to 35 miles per hour (56 kph), with a range up to 35 miles (56 km) between recharges.

Start up a motorcycle company in a country known for adult promiscuity and over priced cars. Then make up a name for your company at its first race, because they won’t let you race without manufacturers name. So, call it HUSABERG? What does that mean? Can you make a living only producing one off road motorcycle. Apparently you can in Sweden. That’s where it all started in 1988.

Who knew that in Sweden the nine million citizens were nuts about off road racing? Not me.

HUSABERG (always capitalized) now only makes two models. The FE450 and FE570. Both single cylinder, four stroke, enduro style, light weight, racing machines.

What really caught my eye is they are producing a new engine for the FE570. It is sort of upside down on one side and looks a little bottom side up? Yes, from the left side it looks like they installed it upside down. The cutaway will show what I mean.

Mounted in the bike it looks like this.

As seen on MotorcycleDaily.Com

This is the way it once was done. Two stroke super lightweight motors, producing enough horsepower and torque to scare the most seasoned professionals. Growing up in the 70's, everyone remembers Kenny Roberts aboard his two stroke Yamaha's. They were reliable and couldn't be beat.

Harley-Davidson sells self image, lifestyle, and social acceptance to Americans.
Buy American. The American Motorcycle.
Gosh darn, we should be including the NEW Americans, from just south of the boarder.

If you can't beat em, join em! Viva la
Harlistas!

UNO

Ben Gulak has spent several years building the electric Uno that uses gyroscopic technology

The rider leans forwards to accelerate to speeds of  25mph and back to slow down.

'Currently it has a top speed of 25mph, but that will be increased greatly with bigger motors.'  'It has a range of about 2.5 hours and it is designed for the commute to work through busy towns.'

It looks cool. I bet it is fun to ride. The projected cost is said to be around $5500. An 8 year old test drove it, once lifted to the seat, he had no problem.

Someone should hire this 19 year old for his creativity.

I bet not many people will have a use for it. But, that's what I thought about cable TV.
